Frank is a Principal at Dell Technologies Capital, where he leads investments in cybersecurity, AI/ML, devops, and next-gen web infrastructure. Frank joined Dell Technologies Capital because of its focus on enterprise infrastructure and its partnerships with the smartest people working on the most cutting-edge technologies, at the forefront of innovation.
Frank did his PhD at MIT in computer science focused on cybersecurity. His thesis was titled "Preventing Data Leakage in Web Services." He has authored numerous papers at top computer science conferences on topics, such as cybersecurity, distributed systems, and cryptography. During his PhD, to bridge the gap between academia and industry, he founded a summer program for early-stage cybersecurity startups called Cybersecurity Factory. The program attracts top executives from many security companies, such as Rapid7, Cybereason, Akamai, Veracode, and IBM, as mentors. He was also a Venture Fellow at Rough Draft Ventures, an initiative to fund student founders sponsored by General Catalyst, where he sourced and led the first investment in companies like Instabase and LogRocket. While at MIT, he ran the MIT security seminar where academic and industry leaders gave talks on cutting edge technologies and trends in security. He has also interned on the security teams at Google Facebook and has consulted for security companies, such as Qualys.
Frank holds a PhD and SM in Computer Science from MIT and a BS in Computer Science from Stanford University. He is based in Palo Alto, California.
