As far as the enterprise has come in digital transformation over the past decade, there remains a sizeable portion of companies that are still locked into legacy data solutions. In many cases, for good reasons: migrating from old solutions into the cloud required substantial time, resources, and not to mention, introduced real business risks.

Mike Wass and the Datometry team set out to fundamentally change this equation. By creating a solution that enables existing applications to run on cloud-native infrastructure — without altering SQL or APIs — the company reduced migration from a multi-year project to a matter of months. and lowered the risks and costs typically involved.

In short, they made digital transformation accessible.

Snowflake’s decision to acquire Datometry underscores the strategic value of this technology and what it can deliver. By incorporating Datometry’s migration solution, Snowflake will streamline customer migrations, accelerate cloud adoption, and further enable the shift to the AI Data Cloud. This validation of Mike’s vision highlights the lasting impact that targeted, practical innovation can have on enterprise IT.

We invested in Datometry at the onset because the team combined deep technical expertise with persistent focus on a problem that impacts global enterprises. Over the past several years, they’ve proven that grit, determination, and having a singular focus can lead to success. We’re proud to have accompanied Mike and team throughout and can’t wait to see the scale and impact they’ll achieve as a part of Snowflake.

Congratulations, Datometry, and onward!
