Chris Hillock

Chris leads the portfolio development function for Dell Technologies Capital globally. His team provides business development services and go to market support to help portfolio companies validate product market fit, establish and then execute their scaling strategies.

The portfolio development team develops and maintains strategic programming and executive briefings to provide portfolio company’s access to its network of F1000 enterprise technology customers, domain experts, and partner ecosystem. Lastly, Chris’ team serves as a conduit between DTC’s portfolio startups and the Dell Technologies organization to explore partnership opportunities and strategic synergies across the Dell Technologies ecosystem.

In addition to his portfolio development work, Chris leads investment and board engagements in DTC portfolio companies Calamu and Ibex. He appreciates how the DTC investment team combines deep domain expertise and diverse perspectives on the enterprise to offer portfolio companies informed, actionable points of view.

An operating executive with a background in sales leadership and general management, Chris brings more than 20 years of experience in leading cross functional global sales teams and scaling emerging startup technologies, cloud infrastructure and software solutions. Before joining DTC, Chris was a general manager within the Financial Services Practice of Dell Technologies. He was chartered with driving revenue growth through developing a coordinated and integrated GTM model across the firm’s federation of strategically held businesses (Dell, EMC, VMWare, Pivotal, RSA, Secureworks, & Virtustream) within the organization’s largest accounts, globally.

Prior to his leadership roles at Dell Technologies, Chris led sales for the media, entertainment, and sports vertical within EMC Corporation. There, Chris’ responsibilities included driving integration, market adoption, and scaling of several key acquisitions including Avamar, Greenplum, Isilon, Documentum, Kashya, Syncplicity, ScaleIO, and XTremIO. Prior to EMC, Chris held several sales leadership and specialty positions with Xerox Corporation.

Chris holds a B.A. in Marketing and Information Systems from Fairfield University, an MBA from the University of Connecticut, and is a graduate of the General Management program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
