Augment: Reimagining Freight Logistics
Company journey

At DTC, we invest in founders who deeply understand their industries and are equipped to drive transformation from a place of customer empathy. In Harish Abbott and the Augment team, we see exactly that—an informed vision to modernize logistics where it is needed most.

The Freight Logistics Challenge

Freight operations have long been one of the most fragmented and manual aspects of the supply chain. Shipments follow predictable patterns, yet they are managed by disconnected systems across shippers, carriers, brokers, and facilities. Outdated and siloed software, asynchronous communications, and manual, geography-dependent workflows have left the sector lacking operational efficiency and real-time visibility. The magnitude of that challenge comes into focus when you multiply these experiences across more than200,000 shippers, 900,000 trucking companies and 20,000 trucking brokerages in just the United States alone.

The upside is that persistent challenges mean real opportunity. The freight sector is ready for unified, automated solutions that streamline workflows and enable true collaboration.

Augment’s Vision

Augment is directly addressing these pain points. “Augie,” their agentic AI teammate, works across existing platforms, providing 24/7 collaboration for shippers, brokers, and carriers. By bridging disparate tools and workflows, Augie brings new levels of efficiency and responsiveness to freight operations.

The Augment team’s user-first approach is clear—they invested hundreds of hours shadowing brokers and operators before building their product, ensuring it meets real, current industry needs. As such, they’ve taken a multi-modal, order-to-cash approach from day once.

Built-in Network Effects

Freight is by definition a highly-connected system. By focusing on empowering freight brokers with agentic AI, a key node in logistics is about to get much more efficient. From that vantage point, there’s a natural adoption path for shippers, distribution centers, and beyond. This positions Augment as a true modern operating system for all of freight.

Our strategy in investing in logistics innovation remains consistent: partner with experienced teams tackling the supply chain’s most significant challenges. As with our investments in G2RL, Exotec, Skan.ai, Tag-n-Trac, and Regrello (recently acquired by Salesforce), our support for Augment reaffirms our commitment to elevating the logistics sector through technology.

A Proven, Experienced Team

Our confidence in Augment is grounded in its strong leadership. With more than 20 years of product leadership, CEO Harish Abbott founded Deliverr, which he sold Shopify for $2.1B. That tech now powers end-to-end logistics solutions for Flexport. Co-founders CCO Justin Hall and CTO Artur Rivilis together bring decades of experience in logistics and 3PL leadership, with Artur joining Harish at both Symphony Commerce and Deliverr.

Logistics is at an inflection point. We are proud to join Harish and the Augment team in driving the next wave of progress and modernization in this critical industry.
